Senior Portraits: Loudoun County Senior Photographer

It's time for senior portraits. I am looking for class of 2012 senior photography representatives to help promote my business among Loudoun County high schools. Do you know someone who might be interested?

Serendipity: D.C. Wedding Photographer

Talk to anyone who knows me and you will find out that serendipity has been the story of my life. What is serendipity? According to good old Merriam Webster, "It's the faculty or phenomenon of finding valuable or agreeable things not sought for."

How I even got into photography was complete serendipity, which is a story for another post, but suffice it to say that it was simply a happy accident.

Last night was nothing short of this too. As you know from my blog, the beauty where I live is pretty much untouchable. Right across from my property is this gorgeous vineyard. The owner grows grapes and sells them to the local wineries. It is simply breathtaking. So yesterday morning I was driving past the vineyard, as I do everyday, knowing that that evening I was doing a bride and groom shoot. I was thinking to myself how great it would be to shoot at the vineyard. Now the owner of the vineyard doesn't live close by and he isn't always at the vineyard, in fact he rarely is. So if you happen to catch him, you are lucky.

So it was locked up all day. An hour prior to the shoot I was driving past it again and guess who was driving right in front of me? The owner of the vineyard. He was working at his vineyard that evening. Of course I stopped, asked for permission to shoot there and it all worked out perfectly. I can't tell you how many times in my life when I have wanted or needed something and it all just works out perfectly.

I believe in prayer and thinking positive. To me, thinking positive is really a manifestation of faith that what we desire that is good, will come to pass. Not to ramble on and on, but I just can't help sharing my thoughts after such a great night.

Here is just one quick one and I have so many more to post from this so stay tuned!

Sweet Little Guy: D.C. Newborn Photographer

Lately my photography has taken me all over Northern Virginia, Loudoun, Fairfax, and D.C. In the process I have been fortunate to meet some really terrific families and that's partly why I love what I do. I love being with people and really don't think I could survive a cubicle job all by myself.

This sweet guy was not a sleeper. Contrary to the photos, he was awake for most of the session. This is pretty typical for newborns older than 10 days. He finally slept at the end and I got some great newborn shots.

West Bay Interiors: D.C. Commercial Photographer

I have had a wide variety of clients over the last month or so and that has brought different projects, which I always welcome. This particular client, Ginger Rodriguez, is a very talented interior designer. She owns West Bay Interiors and was doing an office project for $1000 and below. She has an eye for texture and color. I really enjoyed working with her and I know you will too. If you have any interior design projects you have been thinking about and need an expert, e-mail Ginger at info@westbayinteriors.com

Another Round Hill Session: Loudoun County Photographer, Northern Virginia Photographer

I really don't mean to go on and on and on about how beautiful Round Hill is, but it's kind of hard not to. When we first bought our property to build a house on, we were living in a foreign country and my husband flew back to the states to look at land. It was kind of a leap of faith that we took, buying in Round Hill.

I had never seen the property, the road, the setting, everything. If you know anything about me, you know that nature, beauty, the outdoors, that's what I love. So when I first drove on the road to our new home, I got chills as I saw huge red barns, farm fences, horses, open land, and a vineyard, right across from our property. It still takes my breath away every time I drive up my road. I feel so extremely grateful and blessed to live in such a lovely spot. And it's a perfect backdrop to my photography. These were all taken in Round Hill.

This family was very sweet and fun. The kids kept me on my toes and we had a fun time together.

What Matters Most: Falls Church Family Photographer, Northern Virginia Photographer

It was such a pleasure to work with this new family. The daughters are so adorable and sweet. The baby did so well and was tuckered out by the end of the session that she fell asleep as soon as she was in the car.

I love photographing in Virginia and particularly in Loudoun County. Right here in Round Hill, there's an abundance of great spots for portraits. These photos were taken right on my road by my home. I love shooting here.

Pernod Ricard USA: D.C. Event Photographer

I had the opportunity to work with the people at Pernod Ricard USA covering their recent finance conference in D.C. and at Mount Vernon. The venues were absolutely fabulous, but even more the people were wonderful and that made the whole experience great.

Sweet Mr. "K": Great Falls Virginia Newborn Photographer

What a sweet little boy this was. At six weeks I can't exactly say he was a "newborn" but he did rather well considering he was a lot older and more alert than my typical newborn. His parents are just the nicest people and are so patient with their firstborn. It was such a pleasure meeting you and working with your sweet Mr. K.
